DIY Growth Ruler
What You Need:
Wood Plank 6ft long 12 inches wide
Number stencils 1-6 or decals
I chose to make a growth stick that looked like a big ruler for my friends little boy. His dad likes basketball so I chose the varsity font to make it have a more athletic style.
You need to start by painting the plank white. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the name, lines, and the numbers 1 through 6. I measured up from the bottom marking the wood at 6 inches and then a foot. After that I split the 6 inch marks in half to give it more of a ruler look.
Then I cut out lines 3 different sizes to mark the growth chart. Lines were put every 3 inches. A small one at 3 inch mark, another about an inch longer at 6 inches and a long one every foot. I used orange lettering because of the little boy being in a basketball loving family.
After I married all of the ruler marks I had the name cut out along with the birthdate and birth statistics, such as length and weight.
Making these growth charts were a fun experience and would make a great gift for anyone with a baby.
